Make Peace With the Day Bulletin

Today is a beautiful day to send you an email, Reader!
It is Wednesday, and that means that a new email bulletin is here!
Tomorrow is Halloween, and the day after that is Dia de los Muertos. And if you know me, y'all know that I am going to do my usual yearly message:
NO CULTURAL APPROPRIATION!!
Yes, the afros, the sugar skulls, the headdresses, geisha costumes, etc. are cool. It reflects the awesomeness within the diversity of our world. But the elements of what is considered a "cool costume" can also be of deep cultural significance, and wearing them without understanding and respecting the culture that it comes from can be considered offensive. And of course, there are nuances to this conversation, as some folks within this community may have an issue, and some may not. Everyone is grown and can make their own decision, but I rather stay out of the mix versus entangle myself in an avoidable conflict that may cause harm to others.
