If you're going to be anything, be for real...

Happy Saturday BooFriends!

Whether you're cleaning your home to old school music, resting, or even working today, I hope that you are taking Go(o)d care of yourself!

Chile...this month is a mess.

Idk what download Katt Williams got, but he kicked off one helluva year, and we aren't even halfway through.

Mental Health Month has had one of the most important beefs in hiphop history, which is wild. Yesterday, I saw a recently resurfaced clip of "Soulja Girl", a.k.a Nafizah Patterson going viral as well. And the public conversation surrounding this clip, even knowing that Nafizah was having an episode related to her bipolar disorder, was still one of entertainment.

It was even crazier to see people that supposedly advocate for mental health who KNEW this was a bipolar episode commeting laughing emojis. I hate to say that I wasn't tooooo surprised but a thought crossed my mind:

We be fake, Shawty.

We...US...the collective.

FAKE. As hell.

...We will talk about that Diddy video in Monday's newsletter. Because.. WTF. Let me preface this by saying that I DO NOT wish to trigger people, and will not do so by sharing any videos or in-depth details. But I have a different take on the conversation surrounding it that I haven't seen discussed often. And of course, it will be done, Homegirl-style. You may want to take notes for that one.

But when it comes to the mental health conversation, we need to be for real, as sometimes it gives...fake. *shrugs*. And that's what episode 531 is about. Cuz if we can't be nothing else in this life, we can at least be for real.
